The Detroit Mercy Economics Club is open to all Detroit Mercy students regardless of their major. The group helps foster the interests that members have in economics through various events in the City of Detroit and continuous discussions of current events.

Students from Detroit Mercy's Economics Club attended the Detroit Economic Club luncheon in March with featured speaker Timothy J. Sloan, CEO and president of Wells Fargo & Co. In addition to speaking on innovation and leadership, Sloan told the students how important his exposure to the liberal arts was to the success of his career. Sloan was a history and economics major at another university.
