Middle School Teacher

Middle School Math Teacher, St. Joan of Arc Catholic School

St. Joan of Arc is looking for a full-time Middle School Teacher. This position involves teaching mathematics for 6th, 7th and 8th Grades. The candidate would also be required to teach Religion to their homeroom. The teacher candidate should be able to:

All teachers in the Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Detroit shall be certified and/or approved for teaching by the Department of Education for the State of Michigan. This candidate is required to have a valid Michigan teaching certificate (Elementary or Secondary Education) with a Math Endorsement (EX). The candidate must complete fingerprinting, background check, and the Protecting God's Children virtual workshop prior to working with students.

Special Education Instructor, Divine Child High School

Divine Child High School is seeking a focused, dedicated, and qualified secondary school Special Education teacher to join our staff for the 2021-2022 school year. An Instructional Specialist at Divine Child High School works within the Instructional Support Program (ISP), which is designed to support qualified students in the building who have diagnosed learning differences. These include, but are not limited to specific learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit disorders, sensory integration disorders, and generalized anxiety disorders. This position is responsible for providing academic, social, and behavioral interventions and accommodations to the students on their designated caseload, collaborating with parents and teachers about student performance, and implementing educational best practices in order to meet the individualized needs of their students in a variety of academic content areas.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and facilitate a caseload of students with a variety of diagnosed learning differences.
  • Implement specific interventions and accommodations to students on designated caseloads across various subject areas and academic environments.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with parents, teachers, and other members of students' support staff as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements

The successful candidate for this position will be certified in teaching-learning disabilities (SM) or autism spectrum disorder (SV) and emotional impairment (SE). Candidates for the position should possess knowledge of the inner workings, structures, and collaboration necessary to successfully work within a resource room environment

Candidates for the position should possess knowledge of the Response to Intervention instructional framework and should have knowledge of various educational best practices, including stimulus fading, prompting, modeling, and pivotal response training.
