The University of Detroit Mercy Psychology
Clinic is sponsored by the University of Detroit Mercy. It
has been providing psychological services to students, staff
and community members for over 35 years.
In keeping with the mission of the University
of Detroit Mercy, the University Psychology Clinic is committed
to providing compassionate services to persons in need, with
an emphasis on personal and professional ethics and values.
We are committed to promoting the dignity of the individual
as well as contributing to the common good of the wider community.
The clinic ensures equal access and opportunity for psychological
services to the diverse populations in the Detroit area.
Psychotherapy services are offered for
a wide range of difficulties, including: anxiety, stress,
self-esteem, depression, grief, relationship difficulties,
and child, family or marital problems. Group therapy (related
to a variety of issues) is also available.
Psychological testing is available to assist in identifying
and understanding emotional, behavioral, attentional and learning
problems in children, adolescents and adults. Academic concerns
such as school readiness, achievement and giftedness can also
be addressed by clarifying abilities, interest and personal
needs.

Individuals with medication needs can
be seen for psychotherapy at the Psychological Clinic and
will be provided with referrals for medication evaluation.
Children age 3 and older, adolescents and adults. Arrangements
will be made to assist persons with handicapping conditions.
Services will be provided regardless of the client's race,
religion or sexual orientation.
Services are provided by student therapist from the doctoral
program in Clinical Psychology or the School Psychology Specialist
program - under the supervision of qualified and licensed
psychologists from the community.
Client confidentiality is strictly observed. No communication
regarding a client is made without the client's consent. No
notation is made on any university record regarding a student
or staff person's voluntary use of the clinic's services.
Members of the community and students are charged on a sliding
scale which is based on the ability to pay. No one is denied
services due to financial limitations. The clinic does not
participate with insurance companies. Full payments is requested
at the time of service.
Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 8:30pm
Friday - 8:00am - 4:30pm
Saturday - 9:00am - 1:00pm

the office hours mentioned above. generally, an initial consultation
appointment will be scheduled within two weeks. In emergencies, an appointment
will be scheduled as soon as possible, or an appropriate referral will be made.
