Language & Cultural Training

International Education Week http://iew.state.gov/ is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States. The dates for IEW 2009 are November 16th - 19th.
At UDM, we will hold our annual Study Abroad Fair and International Friendship Luncheon on November 19, 2009, from 11:30-1:30. UDM's offices of International Services and the Language & Cultural Training Department, as well as Sodexho, host the luncheon, which will move from the TDR to the Ballroom for this event; lunch will be covered under students' meal plans. Persons without meal plans may purchase all-you-can eat meals for $6.75!
The Study Abroad fair and events in the lounge are free of charge. Attendees may enter to win a drawing. Prizes are provided by Titan Athletics and UDM's Barnes & Noble Bookstore. Foreign Language tables and International Student Organizations will have cultural displays and snacks available, free of charge.
The Schedule of Events will be updated as events are added and may include events weeks leading up to IEW.
