Steven Abell
Professor of Psychology, teaches courses in general psychology, abnormal psychology, intellectual assessment, and psychotherapy. His areas of special interest include child and adolescent treatment and contemporary psychodynamic theory. His most recent research publications have been studies of intellectual assessment and the correlates of body image. He was the 1998 recipient of the University's Faculty Achievement Award. Abell holds a B.A. degree from Columbia University and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Loyola University Chicago. He came to University of Detroit Mercy in 1994.
