Varsity News

The Varsity News is a newspaper by and for the students of UDM. It is written and published by journalism students enrolled in the UDM Department of Communication Studies.

Honors Program

The Honors Program at UDM holds that scholarly excellence can only be promoted through a dedicated and stimulating faculty, academic rigor, and a community grounded in excellence and collegiality.

UDM Radio is an internet radio station where students create and host their own shows.

Graduate Counseling Student Association (GCSA)

The Graduate Counseling Student Association is the professional association of UDM Counseling students.  Led by the 2013-14 President, Ms. Jennifer Clerk, the GCSA is devoted to fulfilling a wide range of community engagement and service activities, coordinating enhanced professional development activities, and promoting a culture of collegiality and support among Counseling students in the spirit of UDM.   

Student Social Work Association

Ethics Bowl

The Ethics Bowl is inspired by TV's College Bowl, but modified rules adapt the game to the subject of ethics. In Ethics Bowl, a moderator poses questions to teams of three to five students.

Dean’s Advisory Board

Phi Alpha Theta (History Honors Society)

The Department of History is home to the Zeta-Sigma Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, which was chartered in 1956 at the University of Detroit. Phi Alpha Theta, the national history honorary, was founded in 1921 at the University of Arkansas.

Phi Alpha Delta and Political Science Association

There are two Political Science organizations at UDM that students can get involved with. These organizations are Phi Alpha Delta, the Pre-Law Club, and Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science Association.

Psi Chi (Psychology Honors Society)

Psi Chi is the National Honor Society in Psychology, founded in 1929 for the purpose of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of psychology.

Agora Society (Philosophy)

The Agora Society is the University of Detroit Mercy's undergraduate philosophy club.
